Dear Band and Color Guard,
The calendar is considerably lighter this week as marching season comes to a close. There will be one practice this week, Thursday 3-5PM, and a football game Friday against Clear Brook High School at Challenger Columbia Stadium. NuTribe at the Park is Saturday; see band council blurb below for details. Poinsettia and butter braid fundraisers have begun — see below for information and see attached for forms. Have a great week, Jennifer McBurnett VP — Communications DECK YOUR HALLS WITH FESTIVE HOLIDAY PLANTS Now is the time to order your holiday plants from the Falcon Band Booster Club. Support your favorite band and decorate for the season at the same time! The gorgeous Poinsettias, exotic Holiday Cactus, and Norfolk Pines arrive in 6" pots with gold wrappers and are only $15 each! Poinsettias are available in both red and white. For something a little different, try a red holiday cactus or a fresh-smelling Norfolk Pine. These lush plants make splendid gifts, too! The fundraiser ends Friday, November 9th. If you are interested in the white poinsettias, submit your order early — the number of these unique plants may be limited. Order forms will be given to band students and are also available from the band website www.clhsband.org. Questions can be directed to: Anne Anguiano @ 281 413-3236 or at [email protected] The plants must be picked up following the Winter Concert on Tuesday, December 4th. BUTTER BRAID FUNDRAISER I am very excited to announce the upcoming fundraising event! For those of you that are familiar with Butter Braid pastries — you'll be glad to know that they're back! For those of you that are not — you'll wonder how you ever lived without them! The Butter braid fundraiser will start on 11/5/2018 and run through 11/26/2018. The proceeds from this fundraiser will go to support Band Expenses. Each person has a goal to sell a minimum of 12 pastries. The goal is to earn at least $3000 in profit! Feel free to contact me with any questions, and thanks for doing your part to make this fundraiser a success! Samantha Houston (832) 407-8375 STUDENT-RELATED NEWS & EVENTS FROM THE BAND COUNCIL Hey guys! Thanks for such a successful Halloween rehearsal! :) Don't forget that THIS SATURDAY (November 10), NuTribe in the Park will take place from 3:00-5:30 PM at Bay Area Park :) All members of the band program are invited to come hang out to celebrate the end of a successful marching season. You can choose to bring and set up games with your own balls/frisbees, enter the dodgeball tournament with a small team, take pictures, eat, or just hang out and bond with your friends! Everyone is encouraged (but not required!) to wear a tacky holiday sweater :) If you want, you can also choose to decorate your car festively or, like stated above, bring your own ball or frisbee. Finally, for this event, please bring something belonging to the following categories based on your marching band section: Woodwinds: bring drinks (non-alcoholic); Brass: bring snacks (chips, fruit, etc.); Percussion and Color Guard: bring desserts (cookies, popsicles in coolers, etc.). If you have any questions, feel free to email me at [email protected]. I'm looking forward to seeing you guys on Saturday for an afternoon of fun!
