Dear Band and Color Guard,
Congratulations to the band for earning straight 1s at Region UIL. This week, the full band rehearses Monday (6:30-9PM), Wednesday (3-5:30PM) and Thursday (3-5:30PM) with a game Friday against Clear Falls High School at Veteran's Memorial Stadium. On Saturday, the UIL Area Marching Contest will be at Challenger Columbia Stadium, and the directors will send details about Saturday once they are available.
Looking ahead to the area contest on Saturday, the CLHS band is responsible for spectator parking from 8AM to midnight, which means we need a lot of volunteer help. To make the experience slightly less painful, the shifts are split into two-hour intervals. Please, please help out if at all possible and sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0f49a9ab22aafa7-uilarea
Thank you to the awesome parents who took home uniforms to wash this weekend; please return Monday to the band hall.
PLEASE read the band council information below for details about Halloween practice and an event at Bay Area Park on November 10.
Have a great week,
Jennifer McBurnett VP — Communications
STUDENT-RELATED NEWS & EVENTS FROM THE BAND COUNCIL
CONGRATS on an awesome job at region!!! Eyes with pride!! :)
The Halloween rehearsal is October 31. It'll be fun, and there are several categories you can enter yourself in to potentially win a prize, so plan on wearing a costume you can march in for that day!!
SAVE THE DATE FOR NOVEMBER 10!!! From 3:00-5:30 PM on Saturday, November 10, meet up with everyone else from the band at Bay Area Park at an event the council likes to call “NuTribe in the Park”!
Dress up in a tacky holiday sweater and decorate your car festively if you want! You can enter your team of 5 into a dodgeball tournament, take pictures, bring your own frisbee or football to play with, or just talk and eat! Everyone in this band program is welcome :) This is a great way to have fun with your band friends after marching season.
For this event, please bring something belonging to the following categories based on your marching band section (because we all know that food makes everything better!!): — Woodwinds: bring drinks (non-alcoholic) — Brass: bring snacks (chips, fruit, etc.)Plan on attending on November 10! It'll be so fun! Percussion and Color Guard: bring desserts (cookies, popsicles in coolers, etc.)!
