New Parent FAQ

Welcome!
The Falcon Band Booster Club is a community of families working together to support our students, directors, and band program. This quick guide answers the questions new parents ask most often.

Q: Can you add an FAQ page to the site?
A: Yes, I can

Q: What is the Band Booster Club?
A: A parent-led organization that provides volunteer support, fundraising, and resources to help the band succeed on and off the field.

Q: Am I automatically a member?
A: Everyone is welcome to participate, attend meetings, and volunteer.  We simply ask for a minimum $40 membership contribution, which goes directly back into supporting the band.

Q: What does the Booster Club do?
A: The Booster Club has many functions:
-Supports students at games, contests, and events
-Organizes meals, travel logistics, and uniform assistance
-Raises funds for equipment, fees, and program needs
     -Builds community among band families

Q: How much time do I need to commit?
A: Any amount of help is appreciated.  Opportunities range from one-time tasks to ongoing roles.  There is truly something for every schedule.

Q: Can I volunteer if I work full-time?
A: Absolutely.  Many roles can be done in the evenings, on weekends, or outside of school hours.

Q: What volunteer jobs are available?
A: Common options include:
    -Serving meals
    -Helping with uniforms
    -Assisting with props and equipment
    -Chaperoning games
    -Fundraising support
    -Photography and media (like webmaster)
    -Administrative help

Q: Do I need special skills?
A: No special experience is required.  If you're willing to help, we'll find a place where you can shine.

Q: How are Booster funds used?
A: Funds typically support:
    -Meals and snacks
    -Contest fees
-Show theme design, props and flags
    -Equipment and instrument needs
    -Uniforms and supplies
    -Semi/trailer and equipment trailer maintenance

Q: How can I contribute financially?
A: Families can donate directly, participate in fundraisers, or connect us with potential sponsors.

Q: What fundraisers should I expect?
A: Falcon Band Booster fundraisers include Rock-A-Thon, Bites at the Lake, Spirit Nights at local restaurants, sale of spirit wear, hosting band competitions, and a Holiday fundraiser (poinsettias and tamales).  Details are shared throughout the year.

Q: How do I stay informed?
A: We communicate through the BandApp, email, social media, and our band website: www.clhsband.org

Q: Can I attend Booster meetings?
A: Yes.  Meetings are open to all band parents, and your voice is welcom.

Q: Who do I contact with questions?
A: A Booster officer can help.  Our contact information is located on our web page.

Q: What if I'm not sure where I fit in?
A: Just ask.  We're happy to help you find a role that matches your interests and availability.

Thank you for your support,
